On July 29, 2010 a Victoria County jury considered the case of The State of Texas vs. Tomas Caminorreal Jr. in the 24th Judicial District Court presided over by the Honorable Robert Cheshire with the State being represented by Assistant Criminal District Attorney Eddie Wilkinson. The jury found Tomas Caminorreal Jr. age 27 of Victoria guilty of the offense Aggravated Assault having heard testimony he stabbed another Victoria man in the neck on January 22, 2010. During the punishment phase of the trial the jury heard evidence that Caminorreal had six prior felony convictions and assessed punishment at 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. This is a step forward in making Victoria a safer community.
