CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY,
STEPHEN B. TYLER

Stephen B. Tyler is the chief administrator of the Criminal District Attorney's Office and as the lead prosecutor in complex litigation including Murder, Organized Crime, and public Corruption. As your elected official, Mr. Tyler creates and ensures that prosecutor's and staff accomplish the mission, goals and objectives of the office and in so doing serve the citizens of Victoria County. The office advises elected officials, reviews the actions of public officials and represents the citizens and their laws in all matters from traffic citations through capital offenses. Crimes against persons (domestic violence, assault, sexual assault, organized crime and murder) are a priority as are crimes involving venerable persons. Mr. Tyler has a B.A. in Building Construction (Construction Sciences) from Texas A&M University, a M.A. in International Relations from Troy State, a Masters in Business Administration from St. Edwards University, and a J.D. from Creighton University and is a retired Major in the United States Army.

 

FIRST ASSISTANT CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY,
BRENDAN GUY

The First Assistant Criminal District Attorney works hand in hand with Mr. Tyler in assisting with management decisions and implementing those decisions. Mr. Guy possesses the same high values, work ethics and views as Mr. Tyler in the operations and goals of the office. Mr. Guy is a felony/appellate prosecutor who also handles all criminal appeals and post-trial Writs of Habeas Corpus for the office. He assists prosecutors not only in the felony divisions, but also with the misdemeanor and juvenile sections. Mr. Guy received his B.A. from Texas A&M University and J.D. degree from the University of Texas.  Mr. Guy has been with Victoria County as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney since 2012, and is a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) in the United States Navy Reserves.

 

FELONY DIVISION SECTION CHIEF, ASSISTANT CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY,
JACQUELYN JOHNSON

Ms. Johnson is responsible for the supervision over the Assistant District Attorneys prosecuting cases in felony court. Ms. Johnson is the lead prosecutor of the cases assigned to the 24th Judicial District Court in Victoria, Texas. Ms. Johnson received her B.A. in English Literature, graduating Suma Cum Laude and J.D. from St. Mary’s University.  Ms. Johnson has been with Victoria County as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney since 2013.

 

MISDEMEANOR / CIVIL DIVISION CHIEF,
ASSISTANT CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY,
JAMES PINK DICKENS

Mr. Dickens is responsible for the supervision over the Assistant District Attorneys prosecuting cases in misdemeanor court. Mr. Dickens also has the responsibility of the Asset Forfeiture Division to prosecute seizure and forfeiture cases pursuant to Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. He also reviews and files protective orders to ensure that victims of family violence are protected by court order. Another duty of Mr. Dickens is to prosecute criminal cases filed in the Justice of the Peace Courts of Victoria County. Mr. Dickens received his B.B.A. from Texas Tech University, a M.B.A. and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Dickens has been with Victoria County as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney since 2012.

 

OFFICE MANAGER,
ERNEST H. GUTERREZ JR.

Mr. Guterrez manages the office's daily operations, accepts applications for employment and processes all purchase requisitions, reimbursements, and accounts payable. Mr. Guterrez is a United States Marine Corps veteran, a former Secret Service Officer and a retired Warden for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division.
