Employee Benefits Overview

At Victoria County, we are dedicated to offering competitive and affordable health and wellness benefits to help you care for yourself and your family. This page provides a comprehensive overview of our plan partners, benefit options, contribution rates, and additional resources.

Our benefits team includes key partners such as the Human Resources Department, Walker & Associates, Boon-Chapman, and TCDRS, among others.

To simplify managing your benefits, we offer the Benefit Enrollment Portal, a one-stop resource for selecting and managing your health benefits. Through the portal, you can review your options, enroll in plans, and update your coverage during open enrollment or following a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). Visit www.employeenavigator.com to register or log in. An employee guide to the portal is also available in the resources below.

  • In addition to our core health benefits, we offer a range of ancillary coverages designed to support and enhance your protection beyond basic medical care, providing you with added peace of mind. Whether you are looking for life insurance, critical illness, or disability coverage, our ancillary benefits ensure you and your family are covered in critical areas of life.

Explore the resources below to learn more about each offering and how they can complement your core benefits package.

  • In addition to paid time off, holiday and longevity pay, the County offers a plethora of other benefits designed to enhance your overall well-being.  Explore the many benefits we invest in for your health and future below, including gym utilization, tuition reimbursement, extended medical leave, and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Our primary retirement program is through the Texas County & District Retirement System (TCDRS), which offers secure benefits, including employer matching and flexible retirement options to help you build a strong foundation for your future.

In addition to TCDRS, we also offer deferred compensation plans, such as 457(b) plans, that allow you to set aside pre-tax income for retirement. These voluntary savings options give you greater control over your retirement planning by allowing you to increase your savings and manage your investments over time.

This section provides details on both TCDRS and our deferred compensation options, empowering you to make informed decisions about your retirement and long-term financial security.

  • The Commissioners Court adopts policies that serve as the foundation for how we operate as an organization and ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.

This section provides an overview of key policies that impact our employees and operations. We encourage all staff to familiarize themselves with these policies to better understand the framework within which we work and to ensure adherence to our organizational standards.

  • We understand that life circumstances change, and it’s important to maintain security for you and your family. That's why Victoria County offers options for portability of life insurance and continuation of health care coverage.

    Portability of Life Insurance
If you leave employment or retire, you may have the option to take your group life insurance policy with you. Portability allows you to continue your life insurance coverage at group rates, ensuring that you and your family remain protected. Be sure to review your eligibility and apply within the specified time frame after your employment ends.

Continuation of Health Care Coverage (COBRA)
Under federal law, employees and their families have the right to continue their health care coverage through COBRA if coverage would otherwise end due to a qualifying event, such as termination of employment or a reduction in work hours. COBRA provides temporary continuation of the same health plan benefits at group rates, although you will be responsible for the full premium.

For more details on how to exercise your portability or COBRA rights, please contact our provider directly or refer to the resources available in your employee benefits portal.
