How can I...

The All-Hazards Approach considers all types of hazards, emergencies, and disasters that might impact the community before they happen. This includes natural disasters like hurricanes or winter storms, disease outbreaks, power outages, and other possible events.

Instead of making separate plans for every possible emergency, public health agencies use one flexible approach that applies to many situations. This includes planning for communication, medical care, access to medication, clean water, shelter, and support for people who may need extra help.

Using the All-Hazards Approach allows public health officials to respond faster and more effectively, manage resources more efficiently, and help keep communities safe before, during, and after emergencies.
